Suzuki Education Institute of Ireland

2012 Update

Lots happening this year within the SEIi!

Teacher Training

Piano teacher training weekend coming up in February with Marie Barton. This will be held in the Loughrea Hotel on the 18th and 19th.

Violin teacher training has already been in action in 2012 with a weekend in January and their next outing is February 24-26, in Loughrea.

Observation at any of these weekends is very welcome.

Music Matters

A Suzuki group from Music Matters in Galway is linking up with Suzuki groups in Italy and Paris to perform at concerts in Paris at the end of April. Rehearsals have already begun. It involves learning two new Vivaldi concertos as the Italian group do not do the A minor, they do a Vivaldi D major and C major concertos. So, much ahead of the Irish group! The programme also involves a Seitz and a French piece. The Music Matters group have chosen Larchet’s arrangement of The Lark in the Clear Air and an arrangement of two traditional hornpipes as part of the concert programme. The programme also includes various pieces from books 1, 2 and 3 for violin, viola, and cello.

Over 40 students and parents are travelling from East Galway and are really looking forward to the trip. Rumour has it, they have already begun packing their bags!
