As mentioned in a previous post, all of us here at Music Matters have been working hard in preparation for our trip to the National Concert Hall next week, the 8th of February. We are very lucky indeed to be taking part in the IAYO festival of youth orchestras.

To get us in the zone for the NCH, we are holding a concert on Monday night the 3rd of February in our new premises in Loughrea at 8pm. Our programme includes the 2nd movement of the well-known 'Elvira Madigan' Mozart Concerto No.21, an orchestral arrangement of Scott Joplin's Entertainer, and unique arrangments of two Sean-nós songs Báidín Rosamhíl, and Eochaill.

Within Music Matters we have a very strong Suzuki piano programme and so we are delighted to be able to include and promote piano in our orchestra and we hope to continue to do so. All of our string players are Suzuki students and so we will be flying the flag for Suzuki students in the NCH next week!

Onwards and Upwards!
